I grew up in the south of England, riding my skateboard around town, captaining the boys football team and listening to Akon. What a sight to behold.
Alas, in 2010, I shelved the rap CDs, hung up the football boots and moved to London. I started my BA (Hons) degree in Digital Film and Video Production, where I spent 3 years writing, directing, and editing my own films, becoming fluent in Final Cut Pro. I swiftly abandoned that ship upon release of Final Cut X, opting to teach myself to use the Adobe Creative Suite software, and I haven't looked back since.
After completing my degree, I realised that although film is my greatest passion, the post production process is really where my heart lies. There's a great feeling that you get, being the first person to see that raw footage come together, and shape and refine it into something great.
Throughout my time editing, I’ve had experience with shorts, documentaries, promos, corporate and commercial projects.
In my spare time I like to dabble with graphic design, and during my years at university I volunteered with Screentest: The National Student Film Festival. I dealt with all the marketing materials, from flyers to programmes to website design. I also cut trailers, built reels, and produced the awards slideshows. Nowadays, graphic design is just something I like to do for a hobby, but it's always nice to be able to implement it into my editing.
I’m now an Editor at xFilm, an independent Film and TV production company based in East London. I don't skateboard to the office, but you can sure bet there are some Akon playlists on my Spotify account.
